The Witch trailer is so freaking awesome and everyone seems to be loving it which is great. I have a small hope these....lovely and talented - and so skilled at what they do - people over at A24 (sarcasm sign! sarcasm sign! sarcasm sign!) see how much interest is there for this one and they decide to release it sooner than 2016. My God, some flick with Segrl and Eisenberg they can release this year, but this they can't? Are they kidding?
Also as a Wiccan I just love whenever I get to do this. Although really, more films like Practical Magic wouldn't hurt.
Me...sad. That's my reaction to The Man from U.N.C.L.E. not very good box office numbers. It's basically Henry Cavill's James Bond audition, why the fuck would people not see that? Look, I haven't seen the film (yet) but Ritchie made my third favorite movie of all time, gave a beginning to Jason Statham's career and handcuffed RDJ to the bed post and covered his junk with pillow only. The guy is a hero. So it's a shame that the film is not earning money.
At least Henry is getting good reviews out of this. He is so heartbreakingly beautiful. I actually recently realized he may be too beautiful. No, seriously, this is the kind of the realizations I have. Not "maybe I should study more to really pass the exam this year" or "maybe I should look for a job closer to what I want to do so I don't need to work in that hellhole surrounded by unimaginable cuntiness any longer" (I had a fun week at work - sarcasm sign!). No, my realizations are like that - Henry Cavill is just too beautiful to exist. Like literally, even if you think you're hot you look at him and you think "well, that's just out of my league". Kaley Cuoco, who is not a bad looking girl, looked like what I imagine a woman who cleans up toilets at the train station looks (these toilets being in the shittiest part of my Eastern European country, like back in the 80's when Russians ruled us and I imagine they looked so bad that they made Trainspotting crapper look like Beyonce's golden one) next to him when they were "dating" (which must have been some sort of publicity stunt).
I read there is a scene where his bath robe is opened and you can see his chest hair.
When I finally see it, I'm gonna pass the fuck out.
There's a rumor out there that George Miller may be making Man of Steel 2. As much as I'd love for DC to have a guaranteed awesome Superman movie at last, Miller really needs to bring us more Mad Max awesomeness.
Meanwhile there is really amusing and surreal anecdote that Michael Shannonshared about Batman v Superman.
There are new Harley pictures! It looks like she is going to be a tattoo artist.
So the word is that Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 is getting delayed because Ridley Scott insists on making Prometheus 2 before Neill does his thing. Look, I was one of, it seems, very few people who actually loved Prometheus but Scott needs to back the fuck off and give Neil the first spot. Yes, it's not his fault that the franchise got derailed - and I blame Cameron for steering it from horror to action - but making a decent Ripley starring Alien film should be a priority. Also the more time for them to write the script Prometheus 2, the better. Even I agree they really should have put more thought into the first one.
I finally caught up with Hannibal and holy shit is Richard Armitage really amazing as Franics Dollarhyde. He is literally better with each episode. It's so saddening NBC pulled the plug and Fuller is not willing to make another season right now. And woah are Francis' scenes with Reba amazing. That tiger scene was so beautiful, as was the sex scene too. I'm yet to see yesterday's episode but I know what happens and damn, are characters impossible to kill on that show.
I cannot remember the last time I saw an actual movie other than the recent rewatch of Mad Max: Fury Road. Oh, this is bad. I did read 2 books in the last two weeks but seriously, the films are piling up. I saw 2 Conan episodes this week, so I'm down to like....55 to catch up with.
Luckiest Girl Alive! I couldn't tear myself from that book. I have about 50 pages to go but seriously yesterday I reached chapter 12, which all the reviews hyped and I nearly shat myself. I was sitting at work and actually gasping as I was scrolling the pages on my smartphone (ah, technology!). It is so good. Oh my God, so good. They better not screw up that adaptation because if done right and if done without worrying about gore this can be one hell of a sequence.
I love the book so much that I made a gifset illustrating it:
Judging from the number of notes I got the people who read the books out of NYT bestsellers list and tumblr crowd are mutually exclusive.
I've been rewatching Desperate Houseviews. God I love Bree so much. I forgot how entertaining that show is, and funny too. It's good because I really need funny things in my life right now.
Rebecca Ferguson joined Emily Blunt in adaptation of Girl on a Train. I'm thrilled for Rebecca and this is a very good casting, considering the two look a lot alike. My problem is that when reading the book I really despised her character, Anna. I suspect Ferguson playing the part will soften my heart.
And while we are on the topic I have actual post prepared about upcoming adaptations of some of the awesome books I read so that's coming Monday.
As I'm rewatching Desperate Housewivesvinnieh is watching it for the first time and he posted a great review of season 3
