  • (for your reading pleasure and maximum effect of this RF/ensuing nightmares after reading it please put on The Neighbourhood - Daddy Issues and think of me as Forky continuously declaring that I'm trash).
  • Everyone should be watching new miniseries on HBO The Outsider. I am sure none of you are so stop binging shit on Netflix and get on it. Love yourselves. You deserve better than The Witcher
  • It's based on Stephen King's book that I actually read and hopefully HBO fixed that ending. How many books has King written? Like 50? And how many great endings? 10? The book is from 2018 so it's not like he can blame cocaine this time.
  • Anyways, the amazing Ben Mendelsohn plays the good guy, finally. He is the sad detective who is chasing the bad guy. He is a lot like Rust Cohle in True Detective and Camille in Sharp Objects
  • You guys remember how much I wanted to fuck Rust Cohle? You can probably already tell where this RF is going.
  • Bateman plays the killer (your reminder that Bateman is garbage) so the casting is really impeccable. Cynthia Erivo just showed up in the most recent episode and she is stealing all of the scenes.
  • I wanted to check out Mendelsohn's other performances because, well, see the above statements, your honor, so naturally I chose the heaviest possible movie with this one. It was actually very, very well written and difficult so the youths on letterboxd immediately had issues with it.
  • Then I rewatchedLost River (by the way where the hell is Gosling? He is not even filming anything right now. Was he abducted? Tell us the truth now, Katy. Is he putting the lotion in the basket?) I am also watching Bloodline. I just have no shame anymore, do I.
  • For the progression of me falling in this particular fangirl hole, please check out the comment section of my review for Lost River above.
  • I sawRichard Jewell and it has pretty much nothing going for it other than outstanding performances (minus Wilde, whose character is even worse written than I assumed). Bates was very good but I don't think that was a performance worthy of an Academy Award nomination.Just like with Jojo RabbitRockwell stole the show here. Jon Hamm really needs to stop drinking. He looks like his liver is about to fall out of his ass.
  • 1917 is excellent. It's not as great as Dunkirk, but it's really terrific and where it easily wins over it is with lead performance, MacKay was so much better than whoever that boy in Dunkirk was. The score was amazing too and obviously the cinematography should be winning every single award out there. Richard Madden really shone in those two minutes of screen time. How dare some of you focus on Hot Priest from Fleabag over him. Yes, this RF may be about half a dozen men so me, the slut in charge, really shouldn't be the one to talk, but I am still giving you grief over ignoring poor Dick. First Red Wedding, now this.
  • Honey Boywas also fantastic. I watched this andThe Farewell on the same day. Both directed by women. Come to think of it, you could easily have all female best director category this year. I think the only dudes who are actually worthy of nominations this year are Joon-ho Bong and Sam Mendes. The Academy's misogyny is usually just undeniable but this year it's also shameless.
  • For Film Club this week we had to watch Birthwhich was weird as hell. It was kinda pointless which was the worst thing about it. The idea was very clever but they chose really bizarre execution.
  • For Secret Cinema part I got Hearts Beat Loud which was just lovely.
  • I sawCats but I don't want to talk about it. I don't even know what to say, really.
  • These incompetent fucks.
  • Here's Oscar being absolutely adorable again.
  • So last week I mentioned that Oscar has a new project. Turns out his character in it is gay. Considering how Oscar tried to make Poe gay for years and it didn't work out I expect at least three gay sex scenes in this one for Oscar to finally unleash his LGBTQ team spirit.
  • He is producing this too so I am not excluding the possibility of him making it straight up gay porn and then locking Disney executives and J.J. in his basement and forcing them to watch it.
  • Footage from Dunewas screened to the group of few lucky people and apparently it is amazing.
  • Pedro was there at the SAG awards! He looked gorgeous (1,2,3) and got to present
  • We stan dashing Baby Yoda's Daddy.
  • I didn't watch the whole ceremony. Their awful taste and misogyny put me off award season, add to that how busy I am and I just really don't care anymore so I only checked out Pedro and Daddy Hopper related stuff on Twitter. I did watch Brad Pitt's speech which was very funny. But can the fucking media cool it with this whole Pitt/Aniston hysteria? He cheated on her. It's so disturbing to see people gush over him and root for her to take him back. When Meg Ryan cheated it ruined her career. The double standard is so goddamn disgusting.
  • It's still going on. Why is that song being played, it's from 4 years ago!
  • Oh God, Jason!
  • And finally he is watching over us all
